Universidade Potiguar Wins the 2015 IEL Internship Award

Universidade Potiguar has earned another important recognition of its work. The Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL) recognized the university with the 2015 IEL Internship Award in the category of higher education institutions.
At UnP, students and graduates receive support from the Employability Office, which helps them find information on exclusive internship and job opportunities that the university has created through partnerships with leading firms.
“The award recognizes the institution’s commitment to helping our students prepare themselves for professional success,” said UnP’s director of employability, André Lemos. “Helping our students gain hands on experience through internships is a priority for our university. We know that only by blending class room learning with hands on application can students truly get ready for the labor market. This regional recognition will allow us to move on to the national competition, which we think will bring more attention to the need to promote internships for university students.”
The goal of the IEL Internship Award is to recognize and share best practices in the creation and promotion of internship opportunities in the region. The higher education institution category took the following elements into consideration: policies to promote internships, supporting students in internships to ensure they are applying what they are learning in their program, among others.
