Universidade Anhembi Morumbi Student Wins Design Competition

Gabriela Rocha Andrade, a fifth semester student in the architecture and urbanism program at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, won first place in the 19th Deca Bathroom Design Competition. With the support of Professor Rechilene Maia Braga, Gabriela’s project, in the category of public park restrooms, took home first place.

Rocha Andrade’s proposal creates a fully sustainable facility that is integrated into an open park area and can accommodate three people. For Rocha Andrade, participating in the competition was in itself a great opportunity. “I had a lot of work to do for my program as well as delivering the proposal for Deca on time. I lost a few nights of sleep working on it as I learned to use new software systems. But it was totally worth it,” she said.

The project was published in Casa Cláudia magazine and Gabriela was invited to present her work at Casa Cor in Rio de Janeiro. “Without question, I recommend that all my fellow students participate and compete in these types of events during your program. In addition to opening doors for some great professional opportunities, you always have the chance to win,” she added.
