UniRitter Students Win Top Awards in National Journalism Competition

The quality of the programs delivered by Laureate’s institutions in Brazil has again been recognized by Guia do Estudante. The student guide, published by Editora Abril, reviews higher education degree programs offered throughout Brazil and rates them on a five star scale. Eight institutions from Laureate Brazil had a total of 146 courses recognized, showing the quality of the programs at a local and national level.
Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (UAM) received 141 stars in 37 different degree programs, with top scores in radio and television, fashion design, tourism management, hospitality management and naturology. Accounting, international business, journalism, advertising, dance, game design, design, law, physiotherapy, marketing, nutrition, education, psychology, information systems, and nursing earned four stars. Anhembi Morumbi was also recognized as the best private university in Brazil in business and art and design.
Universidade Potiguar (UnP), in Natal, earned 96 stars in 29 degree programs. The advertising program received five stars, and the accounting, law, journalism, dentistry and tourism management all received four stars. Seventeen other degree programs, including medicine and business administration, earned three stars.
Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS) earned 69 stars in 20 degree programs. They earned the maximum of five stars in business administration; four stars in accounting, marketing, economics, design, chemical engineering, psychology, public relations and information systems. Eleven other programs, including architecture and nursing, earned three stars.
Centro Universitário do Norte (UniNorte), in Manaus, earned 63 stars in 20 different degree programs.The top programs were law, advertising and education, which each received four stars.
The FMU Education Group received82 stars in 25 degree programs. Seven programs earned four stars: law, musical therapy, design, social work, translation and veterinary sciences. Another 18 degree programs each earned three stars.
Centro Universitário Ritter dos Reis (UniRitter), in Rio Grande do Sul, received 31 stars. UniRitterreceived four stars in law, architecture, design, fashion design, education and information systems. The business administration program received three stars.
Faculdade de Desenvolvimento do Rio Grande do Sul (FADERGS), in Porto Alegre, received 17 stars in five programs. The top programs were law and psychology, which each received four stars. The university received three stars in business administration, accounting and economics.
Faculdade Internacional da Paraíba (FPB), in João Pessoa, received six stars in two different degree programs. FPB earned three stars in business administration and law.
“The results from the Guia do Estudante show the focus of Laureate Brazil institutions to offer higher education programs of the highest quality, though modern facilities and a well developed faculty,” remarked Professor Oscar Hipólito, rector of Universidade Anhembi Morumbi and chief academic officer of Laureate Brazil.
