Third Annual Youth & Jobs Summit Emphasizes Entrepreneurship and Employability

Universidad Europea organized its third annual Youth & Jobs 2015 summit, highlighting the importance of developing talent and digital skills for improving the employability of young people in Spain. Entrepreneurs, business experts, human resource professionals and educators gathered on the university’s new Alcobendas campus for the capstone event, following a month of events at the university focused on improving the employment prospects of graduates.
Pablo Gonzalez, the 20-year-old chief executive officer and founder of startup Pangea, spoke on the challenges of youth entrepreneurship, but emphasized the incredible personal and professional development opportunities that come with being an entrepreneur.
A roundtable discussion held during the summit focused on the role of business in improving youth employability. Representatives of the Society of Taxation, Creative Territory, Infoempleo and Ogilvy Public Relations all concurred with Gonzalez and noted that companies are rapidly transforming along with society. Sharing knowledge and learning to collaborate are key skills that will help new graduates work together and begin to position themselves as leaders.
Human resource managers from NH Hotel Group, Alcor Consultants, OHL, Logista, Boyaca and ING Bank were also in attendance, and emphasized the need for today’s professionals to thrive in dynamic, international environments that demand flexibility and tolerance.
