Special Event Organized by Students and Faculty from UNIFACS Will Bring Sustainable Art and Culture Initiatives to Boa Vista Solar Park

The city of Salvador will benefit from a full-day of activities focused on sustainable art, culture and recreation, which is being hosted by students and faculty from Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS) at the Boa Vista Sola Park. The festival, FUSCA at Solar, is taking place with the support of the Engenho Velho de Brotas Art & Culture Network. For more than 12 hours, the 20,000 square meters of the Boa Vista Solar Park will be covered in different types of art, including: music, dance, fashion, culinary arts, sports, and other activities focused on promoting sustainable lifestyles. The event is open to the public at no charge.

In addition to promoting actions to increase sustainability and sharing the artistic talents of the students and professors from UNIFACS, the event hopes to promote the use of open spaces in the city to display art and the use of culture to promote social cohesion.

“This is one of the only large and well maintained open spaces in the city, especially since the City Park and the Vermelho River Park are closed for renovations,” said Professor Beth Dantas, one of the organizers of the festival. “We really got into the idea of occupying this space and showing that we can create a fun, educational environment for our fellow citizens.”

The organizers of the festival hope to attract participants from throughout the city. Attendance is free for the general public, but they will be asked to make a small donation that will go to help those in need.
