The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USA) was founded in 1979 and offers comprehensive graduate degree programs in physical and occupational therapy. More than 1,700 students receive innovative, individualized and quality classroom, clinical and distance education. The university has three campuses in the United States: San Marcos, CA; St. Augustine, FL; and Austin, TX.

The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is regionally accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). USA’s physical therapy programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), and its occupational therapy programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
The university offers a wide variety of graduate degree programs for health care professionals. In addition, the institution offers continuing education and licensure courses. Program offerings include: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT), Dual Degree Option (MOT/DPT), Part-time Flexible Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and Part-time Flexible Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT).
USA also offers the Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT), Transitional Doctor of Occupational Therapy Degree (OTD), Doctor of Education (EdD), Doctor of Health Science (DHSc), Orthopedic Clinical Residency, Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program and continuing education seminars and certifications for currently licensed therapists.
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences runs events throughout the year to support the health of not only its own students, alumni, and faculty but also of the community at large.
Recent initiatives include health fairs and screenings, adult exercise groups, and support for organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Straight from the Heart, GoBabyGo, and the San Carlos Community Garden at the San Marcos campus; an annual 5K walk/run charity fundraiser, medical support for a Disney marathon, and support for organizations such as Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House, and St. Johns County Police Athletic League at the St. Augustine campus; a campus blood drive and a fitness night at an elementary school organized by the Texas campus; and a mission trip to the west coast of Ecuador open to clinicians and students at all campuses.
