In Brazil to participate in the 2013 Events Forum, Susan Tinnish, Dean of the School of Hospitality Management at Kendall College in Chicago, delivered a lecture on sustainability applied in mega events to students and faculty at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi.
On the occasion, students from the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management had the opportunity to discuss the topic and reflect on best practices and sustainability standards to be applied both in preparing for and during global level events. Susan addressed sustainability broadly - environmental, economic, and social – and focused attention on the different certification bodies in the field, stressed the individual commitment necessary for success in the professional segment and highlighted sustainability as a competitive differentiator for mega events.
"We are very proud to provide our students with the opportunity to hear and learn from Dean Susan Tinnish" said Elizabeth Wada, director of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. "The lecture was intellectually stimulating and the student showed a great deal of interest in the topic and to absorb the information and experiences that Susan shared," she concluded.
