UPC Champions of Change Award Recognizes 10 Social Entrepreneurs in Peru

On Thursday, August 23, ten young Peruvian social entrepreneurs were recognized by the Premio Protagonistas del Cambio UPC / UPC Champions of Change award. The program is a result of a partnership between the International Youth Foundation, the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation, and Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. The award recognizes ten young social entrepreneurs from throughout the country who are founders or co-founders of initiatives that have a positive social impact and more than one year of operations. The UPC Champions of Change award is one of nine Laureate-based YouthActionNet® programs that recognize and provide support to young social innovators.

More than 150 individuals from the private, non-profit, and government sectors attended the awards ceremony at UPC’s San Isidro campus. UPC’s Rector, Gonzalo Galdos, and the International Youth Foundation's YouthActionNet® Program Manager, Joel Adriance, offered words of encouragement and praise to this year’s group of fellows who are leading social change initiatives in a variety of areas, including education, public health, and the environment.
