Cibertec signs agreement with Conservation International to train students in environmental care

Helping future professionals develop the skills to take care of the environment is one of the Cibertec's core concepts, making it the country's first eco-efficient school.

Committed to caring for the environment, Cibertec and Conservation International Peru will unite efforts through the Green Plan Agreement to promote the use of technologies that optimize energy consumption. Teachers and students will participate in awareness workshops that will be applied in classrooms and homes.

Through practical examples of the causes and effects of global climate change, Cibertec faculty will focus on environmental issues in through program courses. "Raising awareness of the reality of our planet is a central theme that runs through the entire academic plan," stated Luis Espinel, Executive Director of Conservation International Peru.

Cibertec, the first eco-efficient school in the country, changed from printed to digital books to reduce paper use. Students who enter the institution receive digital educational material, which is more convenient to transport. In addition, next year a course in Sustainable Development will be included in the curriculum for each of the school's programs.

Through the agreement, Cibertec confirms its goal to shape responsible citizens and develop eco-efficient projects. Julio Cardenas Olaya, Academic Director of Cibertec's Tecnica Program, says the agreement supports the transfer of knowledge so that future graduates are part of the solution.
