Zussette Perez had a magical moment when Universidad Interamericana de Panama (UIP) and the Make-A-Wish organization came together to help her realize her greatest dream - cooking with a group of professional chefs.
The charismatic girl is 17, but needs to use a wheelchair to get around. She lives with her mother and sister in the Monteria neighborhood of Pedregal, a small Panamanian village.
Zussette had the opportunity to visit classrooms and participate in cooking classes with students from the UIP Glion School of Culinary Arts. After this experience, Zussette tells us that "thanks to Universidad Interamericana and Make-A-Wish, my mom, who would not let me cook for fear of an accident, now thinks differently and is letting me help," she said smiling.
"I admire the chefs I see everyday on TV, they are my favorites," said Zussette while talking with Yves Chiffoleau, Executive Chef at the UIP Glion School of Culinary Arts.
"It is an honor for Universidad Interamericana to collaborate with an organization like Make-A-Wish Panama, because through them we are helping a young person realize a dream," said Karla Guerrero, Dean of the UIP Glion School of Culinary Arts.
Once again, Universidad Interamericana strengthens its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and fulfilling the hopes and joys of young Panamanians.
