Juan Camilo Jiménez, a student in the international relations program at Universidad Centroamericana de Tecnología (UNITEC) in Teguigalpa, Honduras, was selected as one of 32 students, from more than 5,300 applicants, to participate in the Program to Strengthen Public Functions in Latin America (Programa de Fortalecimiento de la Función Pública en América Latina). The program is sponsored by the Banco Santander’s Fundación Botín.
Juan Camilo was the only Honduran selected to participate in the program this year. The program starts on Oct. 3, 2015 at Brown University in Rhode Island, will continue to Spain and will end on November 18 at Fundación Gertulio Vargas de Brasil.
The program was created to help support the development of the Latin America region through creating a network of highly developed and motivated professionals with training in public administration. The goal is for each program participant to contribute to the economic and social development of the region.
