Each year, select students from the cinema program at Universidad de Las Américas have the opportunity to participate in workshops focused on cinematic innovation, which are delivered by professors from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. As part of the international certification program that was created between the film school at UDLA Ecuador and the film school at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, UDLA Ecuador students gained the opportunity to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity from June 29 – July 10, 2015.
The workshops that were presented included: production in short periods of time, advanced direction and advanced post production, allowed students to use what they have learned at UDLA, and pair it with the new material they learned through the workshops to complement their knowledge and expertise within the field of cinema.
This year the visiting professors from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design included Belle Allen, Rich Henrich, Lucas Sánchez, Lia Gotz, Phillip Hudson, and Javier Rodriguez. The delegation of esteemed professors was led by Paula Amanda, associate chair of the Film School at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, and director of Garson Studios.
