Francisco Endara, a student in the first cohort of the medicine program at Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA), was the top-rated resident in one of Quito’s most important hospitals and was recognized by the group’s doctors.
Francisco received an exemplary evaluation score for his work during the year of his residency in the hospital. The score was based on his knowledge of medicine, his attitude on the job, his team work skills, and the interpersonal relationships he established with his patients.
According to Francisco, UDLA had a lot to do with his good results. He felt well prepared from the five years of his program in UDLA’s school of medicine. During his residency, he worked in a number of key areas in the hospital including gynecology, pediatrics, surgery, and internal medicine.
Endara was one of seven students from UDLA that spent the year as residents in the hospital, where they worked alongside doctors, nurses, technicians and other residents to bring the best in medical care to the people of Ecuador.
