On Thursday January 17th, Universidad de Las Américas Ecuador hosted their 19th Business Competition. The event was organized by UDLA’s Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FACEA). The theme of the competition this year was how to create, promote and sustain tourism in Ecuador.

Students from a variety of different degree programs presented their proposals in the Courtyard of Culture at the central UDLA’s Sede Campus in Quito. The students created proposals that addressed adventure travel, gastronomy, science, sports, fishing, and family friendly activities, among many others.

First place went to the WAWA Traveler project, which focused on family friendly tourism options, the second prize went to Kakawa, a theme park centered on chocolate, and the third prize was awarded to Galapagos Underwater, a marine platform with restaurant and a gazebo. These projects stood out for their creativity and the teamwork among the participating students from the more than 30 proposals submitted for the competition.
