At the beginning of August, Universidad Latina de Costa Rica (ULatina) participated in a ceremony to deliver their official accreditation for their medicines degree program from the National Accreditation System of Higher Education (SINAES). SINAES promotes the continued development of quality higher education in Costa Rica and is the only organization authorized by the government of Costa Rica to officially accredit higher education degree programs.
To earn accreditation, a university submits itself to a voluntary evaluation process that reviews the design of its programs, the faculty hired to teach, its infrastructure, among many other factors.
Through the accreditation process, Universidad Latina highlighted its interdisciplinary approach to values and skills development as well as hands on application of classroom knowledge. The university leverages new educational technologies and methodologies for teaching and learning and continuously improves its programs. ULatina also emphasized the opportunities it offers students to participate in international programs in the United States, Brazil, Spain, Australia, México, and many other countries.
Universidad Latina is the largest private university in Costa Rica and has the most degree programs accredited by SINAES. Accredited degree programs include business administration (marketing, finance, human resources and international business), computer systems engineering, dentistry, hospitality management, industrial engineering, public relations, psychology, and now, medicine.
