Madelaine Calfuleo and Yasna Herrera, two students from the advertising program from Universidad Viña del Mar (UVM), placed second in the 4th version of "Anything Goes 2012" (Todo Vale 2012) competition. The competition is organized by the Universia network in Chile and the newspaper Las Últimas Noticias (LUN).
Through the competition participating students - supported by their institution and teachers –create a direct marketing campaign that was delivered through advertisers and media agencies to support the newspaper. As LUN is the leading regional newspaper in Chile, the UVM team’s project is called the "Media Survival Kit." According to the project’s slogan, it "contains the five most important and necessary tools to survive in the media: The freshest news, most informed readers, comments on the hottest topics and the leading platform in Chile with 712,056 readers in total".
For their results, Madelaine and Yasna will each receive an Ipod Touch device and will get to share their project in the newspaper. The competition brought together students from Marketing and Advertising programs at partner universities located throughout Chile and the winners were defined by 40% online voting + 60% vote of the official jury.
The pair that won the contest consisted of the duo Alvaro Concha and Marco Pulgar from Instituto Douc UC.
