UVM Chile faculty member recognized by the FDILA

Professor Andrés Gaete Navarro, Director of the Dentistry program at Universidad Viña del Mar, was elected Dean of the Ibero-Latin American Dental Federation (Federación Dental Ibero-Latinoamericana) and recognized with the Mexican Dentistry Award.

Professor Gaete earned this recognition for a career, academic and profesional, focused on oral health focused training, for "being an example for future generations of dentists worldwide." At the same time, the organization recognized the UVM professor for his work in research and outreach.

The Mexican Dentistry Award is the highest distinction bestowed by the Federation and it was delivered at the XX International Dental Congress, which was recently held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Andrés Gaete earned his dentistry and dental surgery degree, a specialization in oral rehabilitation and dental surgery and a master's in organizational management from Universidad de Valparaíso. Professor Gaete has been Director of the Dentistry program at Universidad Viña del Mar since the program was started in 2009.
