On 9 August, Universidad Andrés Bello, through its School of Dentistry, launched a new dental clinic at the El Pino Hospital in San Bernardo. This new clinic will allow students in the dental program to join El Pino Hospital’s team and is expected to provide services to more than 19,000 patients per year.
In the clinic’s first stage, they will focus service on employees and then will later open the benefits to the inhabitants of the El Bosque and San Bernardo communities. Leveraging its top notch technology, the Dental Clinic will provide basic general dentistry services, oral surgery, prosthetic services, RX, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and endodontics. "We are happy that we have delivered the dream we had in 2004 regarding El Pino Hospital. We have seen how it has grown to serve the country and community," said Dr. Pedro Uribe, Rector of Universidad Andrés Bello.
"It is important to have a smile, because without it there is no personality," said Dr. Juan Manuel Toso, director of the South Metropolitan Health Service. “Five years ago, Dr. Philip Stanke, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, approached me and said he wanted to bring U. Andres Bello dentistry to the hospital, I thought it was an excellent and exciting idea and now it’s a reality,” he added.
