Among private schools, UNAB received its best ever performance in the area of Health, ranking among the top 10 universities, with the most degree programs included overall. In 2010, UNAB stood in 12th place among 58 schools evaluated in the annual ranking that measures the quality of universities in the magazine América Economía. UNAB achievements were due to advances in the percentage of full time teachers and teachers with master's degrees which raised the index of teacher quality. In addition, there is a significant leap in infrastructure and the results per degree program.

The América Economía survey measured variables such as the average PSU scores of entering students, the number of teachers with advanced degrees, the number of degree programs and professional areas that are accredited nationally through the National Accreditation Commission (CNA), the amount of research conducted by the school, the internationalization of its academic programs, as well as community outreach and campus life.

Health Sciences celebrate the best results
UNAB's best results were obtained in the area of Health Sciences. Nursing, Kinesiology and Medicine were the most noted in the poll. The Nursing program was in third place among schools from throughout the country. The quality index of students, offering graduate and infrastructure were the most noted reason for this strong showing, with all these variables rating 80 points or more. Kinesiology, was recognized as the fourth best in the country, the same rank earned last year. In turn, the Faculty of Medicine also has reason to celebrate, which was ranked 7th, jumping three places over last year. But that was not all for the area of Health. Psychology jumped to fifth place nationally among schools in the country, up from 10th place last year.

Sociology, Journalism and Architecture also among the top ten
There are also honorable mentions for Journalism and Architecture. The former was ranked 8th among, while Architecture was ranked 10th in its category.
