Escuela Moderna de Música y Danza celebrates 70 years of excellence

Escuela Moderna de Música was founded in Santiago, Chile in 1940 by René Amengual, Alfonso Letelier, Juan Orrego Salas and Elena Waiss, a group of young musicians who hoped to enhance musical education in Chile.

During the 70 years since EMM was founded, the school has expanded the breadth of its programs to include other arts, like dance, has opened professional programs, earned academic autonomy from the Chilean Ministry of Education and later accreditation from the Chilean National Accreditation Commission and expanded its programs to other cities, but the mission of supporting the development of Chile's artistic future has remained the same.

Celebrating a 70th Anniversary is an amazing testament to the strength of the institution and the positive impact it has had on higher education in Chile. To learn more about Escuela Moderna de Música y Danza, please visit their website: www.emoderna.cl
