Patricio Benavides, Ingrid Gómez, Loreto Aburto, and Yasna Vilches, outstanding students from Instituto Profesional AIEP’s School of Costume Design, presented their latest work at the third Mendoza Fashion Week. This important regional fashion event focuses on the trends and styles for spring / summer 2013-2014.
The AIEP students were selected by their teachers and peers because of their outstanding success in their program and their field. During Fashion Week, they showed dresses, couture designs and cocktail apparel.
Participating in this important event was a highlight in the early careers of these four designers who could not hide their joy at being selected to attend. "Being selected was a big surprise, completely amazing. It is also a responsibility, both to show my work abroad and to represent AIEP and my fellow students," said Loreto Aburto.
For his part, Patricio said he received the news with disbelief. "I told everyone that when I was on the plane I would believe it, but they began to interview us about our participation in the event and I came to understand that I would be there to represent our institution abroad, and everything just sunk in."
The young students were able to admire the creations of regional fashion leaders that were presented at the event, such as Jazmin Chebar, Paula Cahen Tucci, Vitamina, Kosiuko, Petite Maison, La Martina, Prototype, Eva Millar, among many other.
"Personally, I hope I have earned prestigious contacts, new opportunities and represented our school very well" emphasized Yasna Vilches. Finally, Ingrid Gómez pointed out that "this event was helpful for my future as a designer, this is a difficult program, which requires perseverance and effort and participating in the Fashion Week has contributed to my development."
