AIEP Hosts International Consortium for Experiential Learning

The 14th International Consortium for Experiential Learning ICEL 2011 will take place in Santiago, Chile from Monday January the 10th through Friday the 14th 2011. ICEL’s aim is to disseminate and promote the experiential learning methodology in Chile as a source of innovation and development of our educational work, development and training. The 2011 ICEL, the first to take place in Latin America, will be hosted by Instituto Profesional AIEP.

AIEP and ICEL are looking forward to the active participation of the Laureate network in this important international event. AIEP is hosting ICEL 2011 to support the continued development of its pedagogical model that focuses on skills training and experiential learning with a global character. ICEL 2011 provides a unique environment to explore key questions with a large group of prominent educators and thinkers, including but not limited to:

• What exactly is the power of experiential learning?
• Where does it come from?
• What do we do that brings learning to life?
• How do we ensure that learners get the most out of their learning experience?
• And how do we release the powerful energy of deep learning?

Together participants will explore these questions as a way of deepening understanding of experiential learning. If you are interested in sharing a paper or hosting a workshop, the deadline to submit is September 30, 2010. For more information on the application process, please visit

The Congress hopes to bring together experts from the areas of education, development and training from all over the world. The organizing committee hopes to gather between 150 and 200 participants to present their work in the field, with a special interest in receiving experts from Latin America though participants from throughout the Laureate network are very much welcome. The congress will have simultaneous translation for plenary meetings and logistical support that can receive with confidence delegations that come from different countries.
