Universidade Anhembi Morumbi is proud to announce the signing of an unprecedented partnership with Microsoft that will make Office 365 available to its more than 37,000 students through the new Student Advantage initiative.
Anhembi Morumbi is the first private institution in Brazil that is offering the benefits of Student Advantage to their students, which provides access to the complete solution of Office 365 at no additional cost. Students can use the Office 365 software on up to five devices, including smartphones and tablets and is also available offline. One of the benefits of the platform is mobility since students can access the program from anywhere and anytime, via cloud computing.
Office 365 includes all the applications of the traditional Office suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, and Outlook, among others. When a university combines Student Advantage with other Microsoft cloud services like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Lync Online (all freely available through Office 365 Education), students can access the same set of tools and services used by large companies worldwide.
As an institution that brings academia and the labor market together, Anhembi Morumbi sought a solution that would bring real benefits to its students and that could strengthen the contact of their students with technologies that are used in the job market.
"Anhembi Morumbi, like Microsoft, has innovation in its DNA. We believe that a program like Student Advantage will bring value to our student's learning experience. Therefore, we are very happy to take part in this project. After all, we are the first university in the country to offer its students the opportunity to download the free Office 365 package to five different devices,” said Professor Oscar Hipólito, rector of Universidade Anhembi Morumbi.
Hipólito emphasized that the choice of the Microsoft platform was also impacted by issues of information privacy and security of students. "We know that Microsoft is investing in this area and this was an essential condition to reach this agreement," he added.
Anhembi Morumbi also participates in other Microsoft programs such as DreamSpark and IT Academy, which is an IT training program that includes study programs and certifications.
