Universidade Anhembi Morumbi representatives visit Santa Fe University of Art & Design

In July, a group of 39 students and 7 teachers from several Universidade Anhembi Morumbi degree programs had the opportunity to travel to Santa Fe in the United States of America, where they benefitted from an enriching international experience leading to personal and professional development.

The group left Brazil with the goal of participating in one of two different academic and cultural programs offered by the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, a member of Laureate International Universities, which has been recognized as one of the best universities in the western United States by U.S. News & World Report. The two programs were:

  • English Immersion Program, through which students had the opportunity to learn, practice and enhance their efficiency in the world’s most spoken language.
  • Art Fest 2013, which is an annual event that celebrates creativity and innovation in the arts with the designers and artists from the Laureate network. During the program students and faculty participated in workshops focused on themes including Alternative Photographic Processes, Art and Architecture of the Southwest, Fashion Design, Flash Character Animation, Intro to Music Production Tools and Techniques, Micro Cinema, and Urban Arts: Intro to Hip Hop.

The experience contributed to the cultural enrichment of the participants as well as helping them to expand their education and open new doors and opportunities in the professional market.

"The students were exposed to a new culture, whether through classes in a new language or through the interaction with people from different parts of the world. They learned how to readjust to a new and differentiated environment and gained new networking opportunities. Currently, the market requires skilled professionals ready for a global world and that experience helps our students to develop a broader based of knowledge in several areas," said Ricardo Moreira Arikawa, manager of Anhembi’s International Office.
