Anhembi Morumbi leader elected president of Abraveq

Professor Rui Vincenzi, Deputy Academic Director at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, has been elected the new president of the Brazilian Association of Equine Veterinarians (Abraveq). His term begins in 2012 and will run through to the end of 2016.

With vast experience accumulated during more than 20 years as a Professor of Veterinary Medicine and in the pharmaceutical industry, Vincenzi was present at the founding of the association in 1989. During the last 23 years, he has been involved with much of the work the association has done to spread knowledge, new technologies, research and market trends.

"The hallmark of this administration will be the internationalization of the association. In addition to social activities, we will deliver training, legal advice, and other services all geared to make life easier for veterinary professionals. We will work strongly to ensure the qualification of the veterinarian," said Vincenzi.

In reference to the background of professionals Vincenzi says: " Abraveq should provide a space for teachers to share experiences and define the skills that educational institutions should have in their curricula, which should be mainly focused on the needs of the market."
