Chefs trained at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi recognized as best in Sao Paulo

The Comer & Beber (Eat & Drink) section of Veja São Paulo Magazine has named the best chefs in São Paulo in 2012 - 13. Among the winners, were several graduates from the Culinary Arts program at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi.

This special publication is a gastronomic reference in Sao Paulo and the champions - dishes and establishments - are chosen by a jury composed of leading food critics and experts on the subject, which visit the different establishments anonymously.

Among the awardees are: Julice Vaz with his Julice Boulangère, voted the best bakery. Best sandwich in the category, chosen for the second consecutive year was Marcelino Pan Y Vino, chef Daniela França Pinto and partners Priscila and Vivi Barros, also former Anhembi Morumbi students. The jury fell in love with Rodrigo Oliveira’s restaurant Mocotó for the fourth time, and was again recognized as best in the good and cheap category.

The coordinator of the Culinary Arts at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, chef Francisco Rebelo, celebrated the recognitions earned by the alumni. "The recognition of the work of these chefs brings pride and satisfaction to the institution, which played a part in the development of these outstanding professionals. The award demonstrates the talent, knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit in all three," says Rebelo.
