Anhembi Morumbi launches unprecedented partnership with Meeting Professionals International to create new event management certification

Institution will offer professional development and enable students to undergo diploma conferring with international recognition

With the World Cup and the Olympics about to take place in Brazil, the future is very bright for Brazilians who work or want to work in the field of event management. The country has also been ranked seventh in the world by the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), based on the number of hosted events.

While there are many opportunities, the market requires professionals trained and qualified to deliver excellence and results. As a result, Universidade Anhembi Morumbi has launched a unique partnership with Meeting Professionals International (MPI), an organization that includes more than 23,000 event management professionals from around the world, to deliver the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification test.

To prepare students for the exam, and at the same time provide new professional development opportunities, Anhembi Morumbi will offer an extension course in event management with classes meeting on Saturdays for a period of nine months. The training content is based on the knowledge required in the assessment and covers 32 topics such as strategic planning and ROI, Creating Goals and Objectives, Green Events, Event Marketing, Advertising & Promotion, among many others.

"Companies are increasingly focusing on global events and their role as a communication channel with existing and potential customers," says Professor Andrea Miranda Nakane, coordinator of the Events Management extension course at Anhembi Morumbi.

Classes will begin on March 31, in Vila Olimpia Campus. Those interested in enrolling in the course will be selected based on a resume review and personal interview. The certification exam will take place in December 2012. More information:
