Eduardo Giestas named CEO and Vice-Rector of Universidade Anhembi Morumbi

Starting in January 2012, Eduardo Giestas has joined the Laureate Brazil team as the new CEO and Vice Rector of Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. In his new role Eduardo will be responsible for managing the operations of Anhembi Morumbi and Business School São Paulo. Eduardo has extensive experience at national and international companies in a variety of industries, including services, communications, entertainment, finance and consulting.

Before joining Laureate, Giestas worked as President of Sauípe S/A. Giestas led the reorganization and turnaround of Sauípe, which is today the largest operator of hotel resorts in South America. Before Sauípe, he was a Commercial Vice President at T4F “Time for Fun”, a leading South American entertainment company. At TF4, Giestas coordinated the redesign of the company’s commercial operations in Brazil, Argentina and Chile, contributing significantly to its IPO preparations.

As president at EQUIFAX, he expanded the company operations, which were initially focused on supplying credit information to become a provider of integrated solutions and systems, as well as direct marketing services.

He spent 6 years at CLARO where he served as COO, Director of CLARO Enterprises and General Director of Tess. He led the start up of the company’s data operations, coordinated the integration of mergers and led the launch of CLARO in the Minas Gerais’ market.  He participated actively in the process of consolidation that enabled CLARO to become a national telephony operator. Before CLARO, Giestas worked in consulting for companies such as A.T. Kearney. Giestas earned a degree in International Marketing from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
