On Thursday, November 24th, Universidade Anhembi Morumbi held its 2011 awards ceremony to recognize 20 young social entrepreneurs in Brazil. More than 100 individuals from the private, non-profit, and government sectors attended the event held at Anhembi's Campus Vila Olímpia in Sao Paulo. Gabriel Rodrigues, Rector and Ricardo Grau, Vice-Rector and CEO of Universidade Anhembi Morumbi and José Roberto Loureiro, COO of Laureate Brazil, offered remarks at the ceremony. To date, 80 young social entrepreneurs have received recognition, training, and a cash award from this program, which is concluding its fourth year of operations. According to Mauricio Homma, the Program Director and Coordinator of Social Responsibility at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, "Each year, our network of young social entrepreneurs in Brazil strengthens and grows. We are so proud of our fellows' collective impact and leadership in their local communities."
