On Thursday, December 2, 2010, the Iniciativa Jovem Anhembi Morumbi held the third annual awards ceremony for its 2010 class of fellows in the Auditorium of Universidade Anhembi Morumbi's Campus Vila Olimpia. Participants at the ceremony included Ricardo Grau, Anhembi Morumbi's CEO and Vice Rector; Luis Lopez, CEO of Laureate Brazil; Jacqueline Lopes, Anhembi Morumbi's Director of Marketing; and representatives from other leading organizations and as well as leaders from other sister universities of Laureate Network in Brazil, UniNorte and UnP.
The 20 Brazilian youth, who are leading social change initiatives in the São Paulo metropolitan area, were selected through a competitive process to receive a cash award, training, and public recognition through this program, which is co-sponsored by the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation, the International Youth Foundation, and Universidade Anhembi Morumbi.
According to Professor Mauricio Homma, the Iniciativa Jovem Anhembi Morumbi Program Director and Coordinator of Anhembi Morumbi's Social Responsibility Department, "This year's fellows have demonstrated remarkable leadership, not only through their own social change initiatives, but also in collaborative projects they have developed together during the past few months of their training program."
To date, 60 Brazilian social entrepreneurs have been recognized by this program. To learn more, please visit: http://iam.anhembi.br.
