In 2014, IBMR will celebrate 40 years of success in higher education. Today, the institution includes three campuses in the Rio de Janeiro communities of Barra da Tijuca, Botafogo and Catete that serve several thousand students. The institution’s pillars of success include internationalization, academic quality and a strong tradition of being a member of the local community.
The institution is focused on providing students with global understanding and knowledge. To ensure its continued ability to deliver the best in programs and opportunities to its students it joined the Laureate International Universities network in 2010. Students are encouraged and supported to participate in international programs in the Laureate network and also benefit from best-in-class programs that the network brings to IBMR.
The recently opened clinical school is another point of pride of the institution. “Developing this integrated center of health sciences is part of our pedagogical strategy to support the multi-disciplinary development of our students. The campus includes state-of-the-art laboratories, modern and comfortable clinic spaces where more than 150 students can provide care to members of the local community under the close supervision of our trained faculty. This focus on providing our students with hands-on experience while benefiting the community is part of our identity,” said the director of the institution, Sergio Vazquez.
IBMR campuses offer undergraduate degree programs in business, hospitality management and health sciences. Programs offered by IBMR include business, international relations, biomedicine, physical education, nursing, esthetics, physiotherapy, culinary arts, commercial management, human resources management, financial management, marketing, nutrition, psychology, and advertising.
