Carlos Eduardo de Vasconcelos, a lawyer and professor at Faculdade Guararapes, received the Dom Helder Camara Medal for Human Rights from the government of Jaboatão dos Guararapes. The award was presented to Professor Vasconcelos at a ceremony held in the main auditorium of the Palace of the Battle in Jaboatão dos Guararapes.
The award is a tribute to the professor’s dedication to the fight for Human Rights. Coincidentally, he was invited by the Ministry of Justice to serve on the Advisory Board of the National School of Mediation and Conciliation. This new Advisory Board was launched earlier in December in Brasilia. Carlos holds a Master’s in Law, is the author of two books, is a member of the Board of Mediation and Arbitration of the Order of Lawyers of Brazil and also chairman of the Federal Board of Mediation and Arbitration of the Order of Lawyers of Brazil (OAB) in Pernambuco.
