In June 2012, Laureate’s International Office launched its first student video contest. Participants in the contest were to focus on using video to explain, what internationalization means to them. The contest was open from June 4th through July 26, 2012. More than 175 students from all over the network registered in the competition.
The results were received and reviewed by a Jury Panel, which was composed of Beverly Watson, VP Network Relations; Emily Knight , President Kendall College; Matthew Yale, VP Corporate Communications; Michael Parker, VP Global Digital Marketing. The Jurors based their votes on:
Theme: Faithfulness to the theme of the competition,
Originality: Organization, voice and music setting and image effects,
Quality: Video and audio resolution
There were a number of truly great videos submitted to the competition and the Jury ended up with a very difficult process to select the winner. The first place ended in a tie between videos from Victoriano Daniel Bustillos Costales from UDLA Ecuador and Ana Livier Cortes Aguirre from Universidad del Valle de México. Both Ana and Daniel have won an all expense paid trip to participate in the 2012 World Business Forum in New York City in October. Sebastian Hilbert from Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School won second place and will receive an iPad3 for his video. To see the winning videos, please click on the following links:
Congratulations to all participants in the contest and your extraordinary efforts to share what internationality means to you.
