The Maryland Federation of Art and Laureate partnering to create FORMATIONS

The Maryland Federation of Art and Laureate Education are partnering to create FORMATIONS, an online art competition that promotes the work of artists between 17-25 years of age.  The exhibition is juried by Linda Swanson, the Chair of the Art Department at the Santa Fe University of Art & Design. Linda has shown her work nationally and her paintings are in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum and the Newark Museum. She recently curated an exhibition & lecture at the Museum Gallery of Modern Art in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Selected artwork from the entries will be featured online @ MFA Curve Gallery. The MFA Curve Gallery is a professional online venue that gives artists the opportunity to show their work to a broad international audience through interactive exhibits. There is also $1,000 in cash awards. Any original two or three-dimensional artwork created within the past 3 years will be considered by the juror.  Young artists that are interested in participating can upload JPEG images of their work (up to six submissions per artist) through the online entry system at the Maryland Federation of Art website (www.mdfedart.org). The competition is open until June 20, 2012.
