Istanbul Bilgi University and the Slovak University of Technology have signed the Slovakia – Turkey Joint Science and Entrepreneurship Agreement to facilitate research and collaboration between the universities. The agreement was signed in the presence of Robert Fico, the prime minister of Slovakia.
The signing ceremony for the agreement was held at BILGI’s idLAB laboratory at the university’s Santralistanbul campus. Fico, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Istanbul Josef Sestak, Istanbul Bilgi University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Rifat Sarıcaoğlu, Rector Remzi Sanver, Slovak University of Technology Rector Robert Redhammer and engineering faculty dean Pavel Cicak were present at the ceremony.
Making the opening speech for the ceremony in idLAB, where both universities will carry out research, Sanver pointed out that the collaboration is a symbol of the revitalization of the centennial bond between central Europe and Anatolia. Sanver remarked, “I wish that this agreement between the two universities and the two countries marks the beginning of a long and successful new phase.”
Fico remarked in his speech that development of the agreement had been ongoing for two years. Thanking İstanbul Bilgi University, the prime minister indicated that students and academics will carry out significant scientific research together as a result of the collaboration.
