Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos receives an honorary doctoral degree from European University Cyprus

On an official visit to Cyprus, his first official visit to a foreign nation, Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos was awarded an honorary doctoral degree by the school of humanities and social sciences during a ceremony held at the Cultural Center of European University Cyprus. The award ceremony was held in the presence of the minister of foreign affairs of Greece, the Cypriot minister of justice and public order, the minister of education and culture, the minister of defense, the attorney general of the republic, members of diplomatic missions, business and political leaders, academicians and students.

President Pavlopoulos, one of the most distinguished professors of law in Greece and Europe, has contributed enormously to university education and has demonstrated a strong involvement in the social and political arena of Greece.

The rector of European University Cyprus, Professor Kostas Gouliamos, reminded the audience that in his previous capacity as a law professor at the University of Athens, Pavlopoulos taught and participated in workshops organized by the law department of European University Cyprus.
