Universidad Europea has named Isabel Fernández the new rector of the university. Dr. Fernández has a doctoral degree in information technology and replaces Dr. Águeda Benito, who will become the new rector of Kendall College in Chicago.

Following a period as a researcher, she worked as a consultant for private companies in a number of different industries including: banks, insurance, airlines and telecommunications. She has worked for companies like Carrefour, Mercadona, El Corte Inglés and Consum.
Dr. Fernández joined Universidad Europea in 2012 as the director of the Polytechnic School and in 2014 was named general director and rector of Universidad Europea de Canarias.
