Universidad Europea is proud to introduce its latest class of 10 young social entrepreneurs that were recipients of the 2015 Youth Social Entrepreneurship Award (Premios Jóvenes Emprendedores Sociales). This is the seventh class of young social entrepreneurs recognized through the YouthActionNet program. This program, which aims to develop future leaders, was created by Universidad Europea in partnership with the International Youth Foundation®, the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation®, along with the support of Banco Santander.
The selected social entrepreneurs, aged 18 to 29, all come from various provinces throughout Spain and were selected by a team of entrepreneurship experts from the university, entrepreneurs and academic leaders. Together, they evaluated the proposals based on the leadership potential of the young leaders, the social impact of their work, the sustainability of the project, and the degree of innovation evident in each proposal.
The young social entrepreneurs have already had the opportunity to participate in a development workshop and will now begin a new online program that will end in November.
Another week of development activities will take place for the young leaders in November at Universidad Europea’s Villaviciosa de Odón campus, where they will also have the opportunity to meet winners from the other six cohorts of young social entrepreneurs that have been recognized through this program.
The winning projects included initiatives linked to supporting children, using music as an engine for change, urban-focused initiatives, and environment focused initiatives. As winners of the program, the young social entrepreneurs will have access to additional resources, facilities and faculty of the university to help them continue to develop their initiatives.
