Juan Ignacio Díez and Óscar Romero, alumni from Universidad Europea de Madrid’s Industrial Organization Engineering program, were recognized with the 2013 Reliability Awards from the Spanish Quality Association (Asociación Española para la Calidad, AEC) for their final project titled “Implementation of the RCM methodology to the maintenance of MLO engines.”
The award, delivered annually to three joint winners, is accompanied by a diploma, a check for two hundred euros and a free registration to attend the XV Reliability Congress, the main national forum in the field of reliability engineering.
Along with the Díez and Romero’s project, the other winners included "Multiobjective optimization of inspection tasks for maintaining critical facilities: case firing system control rods of a nuclear reactor pressurized water reactor," by Adriel Sosa and Implementation of the RCM methodology in the thermal oil system of a solar thermal plant," by Montserrat Abad.
The AEC is a private non-profit founded in 1961 with the aim of promoting and supporting the competitiveness of Spanish companies and organizations, promoting the culture of quality and sustainable development.
