Anna Rodriguez and Maria Mateos, two students from the Faculty of Arts and Communication from Universidad Europea, have won first prize in the second edition of the Cinespot Awards. They won €1,000 for coming on top in the student category.
The winning spot developed by the students was called 'Movie Karaoke' (Karaoke de Película), and was devised for Amena. The shortlist also included Carmen Sanchez Dopico and Aguilar Sergio, Universidad Europea students, for their short film to promote Gran Canaria.
The winning students participated as a team under the name Shalalala, but are part of the Pitching Minds group at the School of Arts and Communication, which has been recognized in previous festivals in the sector. With this new award, the group returns to demonstrate the high level of creativity of this group of students who are consistently present at the festivals that are at the forefront of national and international creativity.
The Cinespot film competition is focused on advertising. According to Juan Carlos Aparicio, CEO of Discine, "the idea is to emphasize the need for advertisements to be made with the theater and the cinema in mind."
