The Universidad Europea de Madrid Student Formula team recently displayed the vehicle they used to compete in the 2012 edition of Formula Student, the largest European motor event targeted at college and university students. With the presence of student members from 'Formula UEM' team, which consists of students from various faculties and schools, they shared the technical details of the vehicle and the most recent additions to the vehicle with other members of the student body interested in learning more.
The model the Formula UEM competed with this year, called UEM04, brought out many students and members of the university community that were curious about the new car and wanted to see it first-hand. Since 2007, UEM student teams have participated in this competition through the UEM Formula team, with the aim of providing students with access to the professional world while giving them opportunities to enhance their technical, communication and teamwork skills and put into practice the knowledge acquired in the different classes.
Currently, the team consists of 5 teachers and 78 students from UEM’s Polytechnic School, the School of Arts and Communication and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Distributed in seven working groups led by a "team leader" and students of different nationalities, each team is responsible for the various aspects of the operation, sponsorship and dissemination activities and UEM Formula racing car. The participation of students from different disciplines in this project is one of the great points of difference at of the UEM Formula team, which is distinguished from other universities that only involve students from the final year of the polytechnic programs.
