BTK Professor wins the Type Directors Club New York award

Award-winning work with be displayed in exhibitions around the world

The BTK - university of applied sciences is very pleased to announce that one of their professors and one of their alumni were honored by the Type Directors Club. Prof. Volker Pook and Cedric Vilim will be honored for their book design "Kunst als Negation" (Art as a negation) with the prestigious award of the Type Directors Club New York. They will be awarded with the Certificate of Typographic Excellence. The work is part of the TDC Annual "Typography 33".

Founded in 1946, the Type Directors Club is the leading international organization whose purpose is to support excellence in typography (in print and on screen). The TDC holds two annual type competitions: one focused on the use of type and the letterform in design and the other, typeface design. In addition to celebrating achievement, the competitions and Typography serve as a historical record of typographic trends, which are an invaluable resource for designers and scholars.

The award-winning work will be displayed in the exhibitions around the world. The exhibition starts in New York and goes to Canada, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, Spain and Vietnam.
