The distinguished speakers included Rohit Khandelwal, Mr. World 2016, an actor and a model; Saundarya Pathak, 16-year-old table tennis prodigy; Anil Prakash Joshi, Padmashree Awardee & Environmentalist; Bobby Cash, country music singer, song writer, guitarist and composer; Prateek Yadav, India’s number one memory champion; Samira Chandra Gupta, Senior Image Consultant and trainer, and Pranav Sharma, Astrophysicist and Poet. Bobby Cash, the self-taught country musician enthralled the audience with his performance and speech, which he ended by saying, “People ask me, does music comes from a broken heart? But I believe music is what I lived by and music surely comes from a pure heart.”
While discussing the never-ending fight between economy and ecology, Padmashree Awardee Arun Prakash Joshi asked the audience to always remember that, “We never inherited Mother Nature, we just borrowed it for our children.”
Memory champion Prateek Yadav brightened the event with his memory tricks. He shared with students that “the only key to reach your goal is focus and right strategy.”
The event was hosted by students and faculty members of the College of Management & Economics Studies (CoMES). In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDx events combine TED Talks videos and live speakers to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self- organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized event. UPES is already looking forward to hosting next year's event.
