Students from the College of Legal Studies at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies won five national awards at the Indira Gandhi Model United Nations, which was held in New Delhi in late August of this year.
Aaron Mirza, a student in the university's law program, served as the secretary general of the event. The UPES student team deliberated on a variety of issues and earned a number of awards for their work. Team members included Moktika Kush, Obhiroop Ghosh, Snasha Mahajen, Sarthak Sharma and Debajyoti Chakravarty.
The ceremony was attended by renowned individuals, including Sonia Gandhi, former president of the Indian National Congress party, and Salman Khursheed, former cabinet minister of the Ministry of External Affairs.
