Recently, Think Education and Torrens University Australia launched a new campaign, “The Greatest Degree on Earth,” at their Ultimo campus in Sydney.
Through “The Greatest Degree on Earth” students who want to work in the fields of business, design, health sciences, and hospitality management are invited to share their career aspirations and visions at the Greatest Degree on Earth website. One student from each discipline will be in the running to win a full-course fee scholarship, an internship with key industry players, the chance to learn from an experienced mentor, and time to spend a semester abroad, and more — all valued up to $80,000.
Stephanie Rice, a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist and last year’s winner of Celebrity Apprentice, is serving as the ambassador for the program. Carly Rogowski, chief marketing officer for Laureate Australia, opened the event and introduced Rice, who gave a compelling presentation about her primary focus growing up, swimming. She remarked that it was the mentorship, international experiences and real-world learning she gained outside the pool that equipped her with the skills she needed to transition from an elite athlete to an entrepreneur. Rice went on to say that further learning can and should be about more than a diploma , and there is more than one pathway to success and employability – you just have to be the best you can be and go for it.
Rice will continue to support “The Greatest Degree on Earth” campaign and will serve on the judging panel. She will also host the “Big Reveal” event and announce the four winners on Mar. 1, 2016.
