As the first trimester of 2015 draws to a close, Torrens’ inaugural Bachelor of Media Design class displayed the skills they have gained through a showcase at the university’s new Adelaide campus. The major-works will form a component of the students’ portfolios, providing the ability to showcase past design work and capabilities to future employers.
Launched in January 2015, Torrens’ Bachelor of Media Design program was designed in collaboration with sister Laureate International Universities institution, the award-winning Media Design School of New Zealand.
What makes Torrens’ new Bachelor of Media Design unique is that it has been designed with high levels of industry involvement. Industry experts have been involved in shaping the curriculum and remain constantly engaged to guarantee the latest skills are being taught and that students have the opportunity to work on live briefs. This approach stems from a firm belief that graduates should be able to add value to an employer from the moment they step into their new role.
"The quality of our students’ first major works demonstrates the focus on practical learning that is central to Torrens’ Bachelor of Media Design program,” said Vice Chancellor, Professor Justin Beilby.
