Law Program at UNIFACS Recognized by the Brazilian Bar Association
The law program at Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS) was recognized with the Seal of Quality by the Order of Lawyers of Brazil (OAB). According to the OAB, only 10 percent of the more than 1,300 law programs that exist in Brazil were recognized with this distinction. This is the fifth time they have awarded this recognition.
The goal of the recognition is to certify those courses that comply with the organization’s criteria for excellence in legal education. “The recognition is a reference of the excellence of the law program at UNIFACS and of the professors and students that have made the program one of the best in Brazil,” said Professor Marcia Barros, rector of UNIFACS.
The Seal of Quality was created in 2001 and is awarded once every three years. According to the coordinator of the law program, Professor Miguel Calmon, receiving the certification is a reflection of the quality of the program and the contributions it is making to the community. The Seal was delivered to Professor Barros at a special ceremony hosted in Brasília. The law program at UNIFACS was opened in 1996, has earned a four out of five from the MEC and has received more than 100 national and international recognitions.
