Laureate Education Names Enderson Guimarães President and Chief Operating Officer

Former PepsiCo executive will oversee global operations for the world’s largest higher education provider

Baltimore, Maryland — July 10, 2015 — Laureate Education, Inc., has named Enderson Guimarães president and chief operating officer, effective September 1, 2015. Mr. Guimarães will report to Douglas L. Becker, Laureate’s founder, chairman and chief executive officer, and will work with Laureate’s executive leadership team to enhance the organization’s operations model and promote best practices throughout the international network.

Mr. Guimarães most recently served as an executive vice president at PepsiCo, where he oversaw the company’s global categories and operations, including the business and information solutions functions, procurement and corporate strategy.  Prior to his role as an EVP, Mr. Guimarães was the CEO of PepsiCo Europe.  Before his tenure at PepsiCo, Mr. Guimarães was an EVP at Electrolux and the CEO of the company’s major appliances business for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
