José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero Visits Universidad Europea to Help Open Communication Week

The School of Social Sciences and Communication at Universidad Europea held Communication Week last week, which was coordinated with UNESCO and took place from April 14-17. The event included more than 30 different events focused on communication and freedom of expression.

José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the former prime minister of Spain, spoke at the opening ceremony of Communication Week and emphasized Spain’s historical and cultural relevance, and called for better communication to strengthen the country’s position in the world.

During the week, the university recognized the important work of journalist Fernando Ónega, and conducted a number of round tables focused on sports journalism, film creation and production, and the role of blogs in communication. The university also conducted a special event to remember the victims of the Charlie Hebdo attack.
