Baltimore, Maryland — December 4, 2013 —Tony Blair, former prime minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, visited Centro Universitário Ritter dos Reis’s Porto Alegre campus today. In a speech before UniRitter students, faculty and local business leaders, Mr. Blair drew on his experience as prime minister to provide insights on leadership and the future of global business and politics. Mr. Blair’s remarks were broadcast to nearly 11,000 UniRitter students.
In his remarks, Mr. Blair spoke about the increasingly interconnected world, the fast pace of change and the need for governments to be more innovative and collaborative. "Quality education is the most important investment a government and society can make today," said Mr. Blair. "I am very optimistic that our world’s problems will be solved by public private partnerships and by a younger generation who are more connected and collaborative than ever."
